CH2 Council House Melbourne

Description

This building has included the lastest technology in sustainable design and incorporated it effectively. An example of this is the buildings ability to mine sewerage from the sewer below and contribute use to the recycled water collected from the building, the sewerage is then used to produce Class-A water for the buildings non-drinkable water uses. The result is a saving of $1 450 000 per annum on energy and water, an added benefit has been the 10.9% increase in employee productivity. There is no doubt that the building is a success but some features may be extravagant as the building is to serve an educational purpose in which cost is sometimes not as important. I believe this to be the case with the rolling concrete ceilings, the cost of constructing these and the cost and time frame to implement them may out weigh there potential benefits.
