How to use Your Development
Quick Browse panel
The Quick Browse panel is used to quickly access tailored browse lists of Your Development content. A browse list contains a synopsis of each of the pieces of content in the list.
To use Quick Browse:
- select the content type that you are interested in from the drop down list
- select one category of content from one of the three category types
- a browse list will be displayed. For example, you may have chosen to browse 'Fact Sheets' categorised under the topic 'Estate Design'.
From a browse list select the content to view by either clicking on the content title or by clicking on the 'read full version' link. This will cause the full version of the content to be displayed.
User Login panel
The User Login panel allows signed up members to login. It also has a link to the Signup page if you want to become a member.
Member Options panel
When you login to Your Development the Member Options panel replaces the User Login panel. It contains links to the functions that members can access.
Home page
The Your Development Home page contains:
- Links to the main parts of Your Development
- Featured Content
The Home page can be accessed by clicking on the 'Home' tab or by clicking on the Your Development logo in the top left corner.
Content Gateway
Click on the 'Content' tab to view the Content Gateway page. From the Content Gateway you can access all the content that Your Development contains.
First choose what type of content you want to view - factsheets, case studies, brief cases studies, or links - by clicking on the appropriate radio button. Then choose to either list all the content of that type, or select the category that you are interested in from the lists of categories, by clicking on the link.
Glossary page
Click on the 'Glossary' tab to view the Glossary page. The Glossary lists common terms used in this website and gives their meanings. New terms will be added as required.
About page
Click on the 'About' tab to view information about Your Development. It contains:
- general information about Your Development
- guidance on how to use Your Development
- benefits of becoming a member of Your Development
- our contact details
News tab
Access the latest industry news by clicking on the 'News' tab. News feeds from a variety of different websites are displayed here.
Search
Do a quick search by entering key words into the search box at the top of the page and then clicking on the search button.
Advanced Search
Click on 'Advanced Search' in the search panel at the top of the page to access the advanced search facility.
Advanced search allows you to search for content that:
- contains a set of words
- contains at least one of a set of words
- contains an exact phrase
- does not include certain words
Content can be further filtered according by the categories that the content is categorised under.
View Content
Once you have selected a piece of content to view from a browse list, the full version of the content will be displayed.
There are several ways that you may interact with the content:
- Print the content by clicking on the 'print' link
- If you are a member, you may rate the content by clicking on the 'rate this content' link
- If you are a member, you may tag the content by clicking on the 'tag this content' link. Click here for more about tags.
